When you're a lifelong OFM fan, how far would you go to prove it?

For Vryburg listener Hannelie Gerber, it came down to two options: change her name to OFM... or get the OFM logo tattooed on her arm.

Thankfully (or perhaps surprisingly!), she chose the tattoo.

And that bold decision has now earned her the grand prize of R40 000 as the winner of OFM's SHOW YOUR OFM competition!

Launched as the grand finale of OFM's 40th birthday celebrations, the competition invited listeners across Central South Africa to share photos showing how OFM forms part of their everyday lives. From tractors and workshops to offices, kitchens, vehicles and braais, hundreds of listeners showed just how much the Sound of Your Life means to them.

But one entry stood out from the rest...

Hannelie travelled to a tattoo artist in Hartswater to have the OFM logo permanently inked onto her arm, sending the station photos of the tattoo in progress as well as the finished artwork.

Needless to say, the judges agreed that her commitment was hard to beat.

Hannelie says she's been listening to OFM since her high school days, back when it was still Radio Oranje. She remembers falling asleep with the station playing and says OFM has been part of her life ever since.

"I think of OFM as my bestie," she says.

As for what her colleagues thought?

"They've always said I was crazy. This just confirmed it!"

The competition received hundreds of creative, heartfelt and humorous entries from loyal listeners throughout the region, making the final decision a difficult one. Five finalists were selected before Hannelie's unforgettable entry claimed the top prize.
